5-millimetre mechanically recovered meat has a coarse, grainy texture and is used in minced meat products, sausages and frankfurters and various sliced meats.
Our 5-millimeter mechanically recovered meat is offered as a Type 3 product:
- Permitted for use in meat products and meat preparations that still need to undergo heat treatment (by the end user) before they are fit for consumption;
- Labelling: needs to be separately labelled ‘mechanically separated pork’ in the ingredients statement;
- Labelling: may be included in the product’s total meat content; does however need to be labelled separately;
- Minimal changes to the cell structure, meaning that meat tissue characteristics are preserved;
- Available as a 5-millimeter product.
